Governor Steve Beshear was notified today that President Barack Obama has approved Gov. Beshear’s request for a major disaster declaration for Pike County. Severe storms and flooding hit on Saturday, July 17, causing two fatalities and severe damage across the county. Gov. Beshear saw the damage firsthand when he visited Pike County on Monday, July 19.
